Make sure that you have read the safety information and followed the instructions in "Prepare your card for issue" before you begin these steps.


Issue cards with the "Classic" method

  1. Rez the card that you prepared in the "Prepare your card for issue" stage.
  2. Rename the card. For the Classic method, we recommend that you add something like "REZ TO ACTIVATE" to the end of the card name.

Balance Mode

  1. In local chat, type set balance 100 (Replace 100 with the balance you want to put onto the card)
  2. In local chat, type: set issue. This will issue the card and make it transferable.
  3. Right click, and TAKE the card into your inventory.

Your gift card is now ready! To test, give the card to an alt (or a partner or friend) and check that the card works with your vendors.

Product Mode

  1. In local chat, type set product
  2. Touch one of your vendors, so that the product image appears on the gift card
  3. In local chat, type: set issue. This will issue the card and make it transferable.
  4. Right click, and TAKE the card into your inventory.

Your gift card is now ready! To test, give the card to an alt (or a partner or friend) and check that the card delivers the product.

Distributing "Classic Method" Gift Cards

Selling your new gift cards is easy! Here are some of the ways merchants have mentioned selling theirs in the past:

Sell through CasperVend

Your card must be fully set up INWORLD. If you are selling it with a balance, the balance must be applied INWORLD, like the older gift cards - NOT through the product listing.

You can box up the gift card (and include a notecard of instructions and a landmark) if you wish, and drop the box in the DropBox to sell through the vendors. The box isn't required - if you just want to drop the gift card itself into the DropBox, that works too. You'll need to set up the product listing, either way.

Sell via a "Buy" box

Just drop the gift card in a box, and sell it right from that box. You won't see statistics in your CasperVend, though.

Sell the empty (no balance on them) cards

Simply sell (or give away) gift cards without a balance, and set out a top-up terminal that people can use to put a balance on the cards.
