Instructions

This product is designed to be extremely easy to use, cause virtually no lag, and still be powerful and flexible enough for the most challenging of scenarios!

Here's how you set up your poses:

1. Drop the included "CasperTech SimpleSit" script into the ROOT prim of your object.

2. Rez as many of the included "SimpleSit Positioner" objects as you need *next to your object* - One for each seat, and move them to the approximate location on the object where you want each avatar to be seated.

3. Drop the animations you want for each seat into the appropriate Positioner (DO NOT drop them into the main object, the animations will be automatically sent to the object by the positioner when you save).

4. Sit on each positioner object in turn and move the positioner into exactly the right position. NEW: If you use multiple animations in each seat, touch each positioner while you're sitting on it and click "Anim" to move to the next animation, then adjust the position to suit the animation, repeat for each animation in the positioner.

5. (OPTIONAL) : If you want to set a camera viewpoint for each seat, touch the appropriate positioner and click "Camera". Grant the positioner permissions, and then move your camera to the position you want the seat to use (using the normal viewer controls), then click "Save Camera".

6. Once you've got each seat set up, touch one of them and click "Save". DO NOT SIT ON THE OBJECT YET!

7. Once all the seats have turned green, please DO NOT SIT ON THE OBJECT - be patient... Wait for the "Positions have been saved and backed up.", message.

8. Once you get the message in local chat that positions have been backed up, you may now delete the poseballs - simply click each one and select 'delete' from the popup menu.

Optional Feature: Sequential Order

You can define the order that seats are shown in.

To do this, change the "description" field of the positioner prims.

It's VERY important that you do these in ascending order, starting at 1, and don't leave any as 0 if you are defining a sequential order... if you don't do this, your sit configuration will be wrong.

If you do not want to present the seats in any particular order, simply leave all the description fields as "0".

Animation Name Limitations

Please do NOT name any of your animations the same name as any of the Second Life client's default internal animations.

The animation will still work, HOWEVER' what you'll actually get will be a blend of your animation and the default animation.

Limitations

  1. SimpleSit is not designed to hold more than six (6) animations per positioner/seat. (If you choose to add more, you do so at your own risk.)
  2. SimpleSit is not designed to be used for a sex bed or any other automatically-synced furniture. Each person seated has to change their animation themselves.
  3. Your animation names must be less than 24 characters long

FAQ / Troubleshooting

Q. I'm getting this error: WARNING: Couldn't save current animation position because i'm not associated with a base unit
A. Make sure the base unit has the SimpleSit script - If necessary, right-click, then "Edit", then in the contents tab, right click on the script and see who created it - you should see Casper Warden. If you see any other name, it's not a SimpleSit script.
Q. I've set up positions and hit save, but the balls aren't turning green.
A. If the balls aren't turning green, then you've overfilled the positioners. Remember that SimpleSit only supports up to 6 animations per positioner.
Q. If I've overfilled the positioners, do I have to reposition everything once I pull out the extra animations?
A. Unfortunately, yes, you'll need to set them up again. If they don't turn green, it means that the function that saves the positions has failed, and no data was kept.
Q. Getting "No room to sit here, try another spot." or "There is no suitable surface to sit on, try another spot." messages?
A1. It's often caused by being in the middle of a giant megaprim (like those huge "off-sim" sculpties surrounding sims). But don't worry, you can fix it! IF you get this issue (and not everyone does), first try to drop the "Prim Primer" script into every other prim in the linkset. Obviously if you only have one prim, you can't do this.
A2. If this still doesn't work, then you will need to add some prims to your linkset. In this circumstance, you will need at least the same number of prims as you have seats. So, if you want to sit 4 avatars, your object must have AT LEAST 4 prims IN TOTAL. It doesn't matter what shape they are or where they are. Now, use the Prim Primer again in the empty prims and your problem should be gone.
Q. I already set the positions and was using the prim, but when I relocated the prim that I configured the sits for, the positions did not move with the prim - they're acting as if they're relative to the world...
A1. The positioners won't move with the prim. Once you've saved, you need to delete the positioners and then you can move the object.
A2. Make sure you haven't accidently resized the prim instead of moving it.
Q. How far away can the positioners be from the base?
A. The distance is unlimited.
