This does NOT change or replace already existing options - this is an *additional* option for landlords who prefer using a fixed monthly due date each month.

NEW: Fixed Monthly payment terms for CasperLet

What is it?

Over the years, our CasperLet customers have commonly indicated that they would like their CasperLet terminals to track better with their region/land billing dates.

"Fixed Monthly" is the a option which does just that.

How does it work?

With "Fixed Monthly", the the monthly price assumes a standard calendar month regardless of the number of days - and remembers the appropriate billing date from one month to the next, based on when the tenant begins their rental.

For example, if the tenant begins their rental on the 8th, then they will renew every month on the 8th, and will be charged a fixed monthly amount regardless of the length of the month.

If the tenant begins their rental on 28th, 29th, 30th or 31st, the system will remember that's when it should be, even if the current month has a different number of days. If your tenant begins a rental on the 31st, it will adjust to the 30th on months with 30 days, and the 28th or 29th in February (whether it's a leap year or not) and go back to the 31st on months with 31 days.

The monthly prices will remain the same regardless of the length of the month - however, if you use the pay buttons set to weekly or daily payment amounts, those will change to adjust for the different lengths of each calendar month.

Because of this, if you are using the "Fixed Monthly", we recommend that your pay buttons buttons ALSO be set for "Fixed Monthly" amounts instead of weekly or daily amounts in order to keep your tenants from getting confused.

If you need to adjust the time on a tenant's rental, the "Fixed Monthly" expiry date will be changed to reflect a new expiry date after the time adjustment. So if you add a day or a week to the rental, the Fixed Monthly expiry is pushed forward to take the added time into account.

Caveats

  • With either method, the length of time displayed in floating text inworld is ONLY a "guesstimate" - this is an LSL limitation, due to the lack of script space to do an accurate calculation.
