Managing Your Land
- This page will show you how to manage your land to reduce the amount of griefing you have to deal with.
- This options are NOT managed by CasperLet, and must be done with actual manual land option changes inworld.
Your Land Group
- If you are running a business, you will first need a group.
- See the knowledge base article on creating a group
- Once you have your group created, see how to add your land to the group, or to buy the land INTO the group.
- Once those steps are complete, then you can move on to changing your land settings.
Land Settings
Residential land
- Examples: Your personal linden home or other land where visitors who are NOT your renters do NOT need to run scripts.
- Right click the land, select "About Land"
- Select the "Options" tab
- Untick the "Edit Terrain" checkbox (if it's already unticked, leave it alone)
- For "Create Objects", untick "all residents" but keep "Group" ticked
- For "Object Entry", untick "all residents" but keep "Group" ticked
- For "Run Scripts", untick "all residents" but keep "Group" ticked
- For "Restrict Pushing / Safe" - tick that box
Commercial land
- Examples: Store land where visitors need to wear and use gift cards, roleplay sims that use combat meters.
- For "Run Scripts", leave "all residents" as well as "Group" ticked
- For "Restrict Pushing / Safe" - If a store, tick that box.
Ban Lines
- Ban lines do NOT prevent object entry - ONLY the entry of avatars.
- To prevent object entry, you need to use the "object entry" settings, as listed above.
Setting Autoreturn
- Before proceeding, if your land is in a group, ALL of the objects on the land must be set to the landholding group. If this is not done, when when autoreturn is on, those objects will be returned!
- The object OWNER must be the one to change the group a rezzed object is set to, AND they must be a member OF the new land group.
Objects already rezzed?
- For objects already rezzed, do the following steps - this must be done on a per-object basis:
- Wear the land group tag
- Right-click the object, and go into "Edit" mode
- Click "More" if you don't see the "General" tab
- Click the "Set..." button next to "Group"
- Select the land group from the groups box, and click "OK"
- Repeat these steps for every object that's not already set to the group.
Turning on autoreturn
- A setting of "0" means that autoreturn is OFF. New autoreturn numbers can only be in whole numbers - no fractions or decimals.
- Right-click the land, select "About Land"
- On the floater, select the "Objects" tab
- Find the white box next to "Autoreturn other residents' objects"
- Enter a value of "1" or higher in this field
- Hit enter
- Close the floater
