Always Rez Under Land Group

SOME of the available Second Life viewers have the capability to allow you to specify that as much of your rezzing as possible should be done under the applicable land group.

Currently, this includes the following viewers:

• Cool VL Viewer
• Firestorm
• Phoenix
• Imprudence
• Rainbow Viewer

NOTE: Out of this list, Cool VL Viewer and Firestorm are the ONLY two that are server-side-appearance/baking capable. Some residents may still be using one of the other three due to being unable to upgrade their hardware, so instructions for all five are included below. To set this option active in any the viewers in this list, use one of the following sets of steps:

Under Cool-VL-Viewer:

Go to:

• Preferences > Cool features > Miscellaneous:
• Find the checkbox: "Rez objects with land group when possible"

Under Firestorm:

Go to:

• Preferences > Firestorm > General
• Find the checkbox: "Always rez object under the land group if possible"

Under Phoenix:

Go to:

• Preferences > Phoenix > Page 1 > Misc:
• Find the checkbox: "Always rez object under the land group if possible"

Under Imprudence:

Go to:

• Right-click Edit (get to the build floater) > "Build Options" button
• Find the checkbox: "Rez objects using land group"

Under Rainbow Viewer:

Go to:

• Right-click Edit (get to the build floater) > "Options" button
• Find the checkbox: "Rez objects under the land group when possible"

Other Viewers

Linden Lab's primary viewer, and many others, unfortunately, do not have a similar capability at the time this page was posted.
