Managing Your Land

This page will show you how to manage your land to reduce the amount of griefing you have to deal with.

Your Land Group

If you are running a business, you will first need a group. See the knowledge base article on creating a group
Once you have your group created, see how to add your land to the group.
Once those steps are complete, then you can move on to changing your land settings.

Ban Lines

Ban lines do NOT prevent object entry - just the entry of avatars.

Setting Autoreturn

Before proceeding, if your land is in a group, ALL of the objects on the land must be set to the landholding group. If this is not done, when when autoreturn is on, those objects will be returned! The object OWNER must be the one to do this.
For objects already rezzed, do the following steps - this must be done on a per-object basis:
  1. Wear the land group tag
  2. Right-click the object, and go into "Edit" mode
  3. Click "More" if you don't see the "General" tab
  4. Click the "Set..." button next to "Group"
  5. Select the land group from the groups box, and click "OK"
  6. Repeat these steps for every object that's not already set to the group.
Once all the objects are set to the group, NOW you can turn on the autoreturn:
  1. Right-click the land, select "About Land"
